Patients on chemotherapy (neutropenia/thrombocytopenia/mucositis)
Dental riskmoderate
Chemotherapy patients may have: (1) NEUTROPENIA → severe infection risk, (2) THROMBOCYTOPENIA → bleeding risk, (3) MUCOSITIS → pain/ulceration/secondary infection, (4) blunted infection signs (especially on steroids). Neutropenia definition: ANC ≤500, or ANC <1000 with predicted decline to ≤500 within 48h. KEY: ANC and platelet count DRIVE all dental decisions. Cross-references H5 (Leukemia/Lymphoma), H6 (Neutropenia), H4 (Thrombocytopenia) for detailed protocols.
