Multiple sclerosis (MS) is an immune-mediated demyelinating disease of the CNS with relapsing or progressive neurologic deficits (fatigue, weakness, spasticity, sensory changes, visual disturbances). Dental relevance: (1) fatigue and spasticity affect cooperation and appointment tolerance, (2) possible dysphagia/aspiration risk in advanced disease, (3) heat sensitivity (Uhthoff phenomenon — symptoms temporarily worsen when body temperature rises), (4) immunosuppressive DMTs increase infection risk, and (5) baclofen+opioid interaction risk.
