History of thromboembolism / thrombophilia
Thromboembolism history (prior DVT/PE, stroke/TIA, systemic embolism) and thrombophilia (inherited/acquired clotting tendency: Factor V Leiden, prothrombin mutation, antiphospholipid syndrome). Dental relevance is usually NOT the thrombophilia itself but the ANTITHROMBOTIC STRATEGY and the THROMBOTIC RISK OF INTERRUPTION. #1 Rule: do NOT stop or "bridge" anticoagulation yourself — most dental procedures can be managed with local hemostasis while continuing therapy. Bridging is selective and requires the prescribing clinician's plan.
