Interstitial lung disease / pulmonary fibrosis
Dental riskhigh
ILD/pulmonary fibrosis is a group of disorders causing interstitial inflammation and/or fibrosis → restrictive lung physiology, impaired gas diffusion, and hypoxemia (often exertional, sometimes resting). Includes idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF), sarcoidosis-related ILD, connective tissue disease-associated ILD, and others. Dental relevance: higher risk of desaturation, limited tolerance of supine positioning, and increased risk of respiratory complications with sedation/GA.
