Why this matters
Oral epithelium renews continuously, wounds recruit controlled proliferation, development removes temporary cells and severe injury can cause cell death. The same control systems become clinically important in oral cancer and treatment-related tissue injury.
Control rule: identify the phase, the task, the checkpoint, the possible fate and the tissue consequence.
